New beginnigs! In so many ways and feels great. After almost 18 years I quit my job as a Productmarketing and PR manager in the CE industrie. No, this is not the story of the next hobby photographer going pro and full-time. Photography stays my hobby (for the most part) because that's when I enjoy it the most. I'll start a new Job in Corporate communication in the financial industrie. So that's one. The second new beginning is, that I recently added a drone to my photography gear. The main idea behind it is to get my son to join me on some of the photography sessions. But of course I couldn't avoid using it myself.
The third new beginning is with my relationship to my body. The last years have been hard in terms of stying healthy. Mostly back and knee problems have always hold me back. Luckily there have been stretches where I felt fine enough to do some smaller hikes. But right now I have a little over a month between jobs and my plan and dream was to spend quality time with my kids in Denmark and later on doing a solo tour to the Dolomites. This will be a 2 week photography trip that I will cover in another blog.
As a family we know Denmark well and we are always looking forward to what awaits us there. But this year we changed our home base. Instead of Hennen Strand we rented a house a little further up the coast in Bjerregard. It's a beautiful region between the ocean and the Ringköbing Fjord. Via Danwest we rented a house right in front of the Fjord. We love the solitude and the feeling of freedom you get a the coast. Because although it was peak holiday season it never feels crowded.
It's a slow approach to living when we are on holidays and although we have some things that we always like to do in DK (e.g. riding, visiting Ringköbing, going for a swim, flying the kite and walking on the beach) we always sleep in and enjoy to not have to do a whole lot. Even I don't bother getting up at stupid o'clock for a sunrise shoot. Although on the first day I did, but that was a coincidence.
Daytime until dinner is always for us as family. But in the afternoon I get my 1 - 1 1/2 hour for photography.
